Our website address is: movekpftforward.org More about us is at movekpftforward.org/about

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We do not require visitors to this web site to log in or provide a password. However, we do collect and keep information you provide on our online forms and if you email or otherwise contact us (see below for more details).

If you make a donation, either (1) you are sent to PayPal for processing of the donation via your PayPal account (if you use the PayPal button), or (2) your credit/debit card information is sent securely to Stripe for processing of the card. We get back from PayPal or Stripe your name, e-mail address, the amount you donated and when it was. We do not get nor save your credit/debit card or PayPal login information, although of course PayPal and Stripe uses the information you provide to process your donation.

Contact Forms, Survey Forms, etc.

We save the information you provide on our online forms, including our Contact Us form and survey forms, so that we may respond to you (if you asked a question), and so we can send you updates on KPFT and Pacifica matters and our efforts to help to save KPFT and other Pacifica stations – for example, through improving our governance and via Pacifica elections.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

The information you provide on our any form which we might have on our web site may be provided to KPFT or Pacifica management or the PNB or LSB. We may also ask KPFT to use the information you provided to update its membership list (for example, if you provide information about a second person in your household who should be on the member list because of donating enough to qualify for a family membership). We may also use the contact information you provide to send you updates on KPFT and Pacifica matters, via e-mail, text/SMS, and/or phone calls. We may also send messages on behalf of related groups of Pacifica members that have common goals of helping to reform Pacifica governance and helping KPFT and other Pacifica stations. We respect your privacy and have no plans to sell or rent the data we collect, and will only use it as noted in this paragraph. We will comply with all laws and any court orders that might be applicable to data we collect.

What rights you have over your data

If you have submitted information on this site, for example by filling out a form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. You may also request that we stop sending you e-mails or texts or calling you by phone.

Text Messaging (SMS)

We plan to use text messaging (SMS) to people in our database (which was NOT obtained from KPFT or Pacifica) and who have provided their contact information to us, to remind them about KPFT and Pacifica elections, what to do if you don’t get a ballot, and other details about elections and other matters of significance to KPFT and its members. These messages will be limited in number and primarily during and just before elections, plus possibly occasional text messages afterwards in in times of financial or governance crisis for KPFT and/or Pacifica. Our primary messaging will be via e-mails to people who are in our database.

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP” in reply to any SMS message you get from us. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up again using our endorsement form or text “START” in reply to any message you got from us, and we will re-subscribe you so you can start getting SMS messages to you again.

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly by e-mailing info@newdaypacifica.org. Please put something in the subject line about the issue you are having.

Telephone carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages

As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you, depending on the carrier’s plan for your mobile phone. You will probably receive no more than 12 messages per year, mostly just around the time of Pacifica member elections. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our privacy policy (this page).
